Volunteers of the Month

May 2023 Volunteers of the Month - Kelsey & Elise

This month we bring to you two fantastic ladies who have gone above and beyond to help dogs in need. They may have only been fostering with us for a short time, but they have jumped in with both feet and never complain, even when their foster dogs do crazy things like eat their blankets! Here is a bit about Kelsey and Elise, in their own words:

“Hello! We are a newer foster family, though have adopted through Paw Patrol previously. We have two of our own dogs who are stepping into foster sister roles well. In our 4 years together, our dogs have always played a prominent role. (Yes we’ve even talked about having them as flower girls for our wedding!) We have three fosters currently, two of whom are recovering from surgery. We are blessed to be able to help save the lives of other pets by fostering, and look forward to many more canine visitors in our home.

Kelsey: Outside of dog related activities, I am the Director of Counseling Services at Antioch College in Yellow Springs and am currently in a PhD program at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Most of my professional hours are sedentary - sitting with clients or in front of a computer. Fostering gives me an opportunity to be in a helping role where I can be in motion and to have a passion outside of the professional roles I often find myself stuck in. I’m glad to be part of this pet-loving community, where I can post as many photos of my dogs as I want and no one minds!

Elise: I work full time as a Dayton Firefighter, and am currently in school to get my Paramedic certificate with graduation in August. I have a passion for serving my community and helping others, and also a passion for my pets and being outside. I love taking our dogs on hikes and exploring new places on my days off. Fostering with Paw Patrol is a great way for me to help place pets in need into loving homes and get outdoors. Also, Heaven to me is waking up in a pile of dogs and with 3 current fosters and 2 dogs of our own I get that everyday.”

Thank you, ladies, so very much for all you do to help these innocent lives!
