October 2021 Volunteer of the Month - Autumn

October brings with it the cool fall air, corn mazes, hot cocoa nights, and of course Halloween. So, what better way to ring in the month than to say a huge thank you to Autumn, our appropriately named, Halloween-loving volunteer of the month! Autumn helps us out by writing very creative and fun bios for our adoptable animals – if you haven’t read Marky Mark’s bio yet, you have to check it out! Here is a bit more about our awesome volunteer:

My name is Autumn Shilt. I am from Dayton, Ohio. I am happily married. My husband, Adam, and I have two wonderful fur babies named Chewy & Potato. I enjoy traveling, cooking, reading, concerts, Halloween, Netflix binging, and anything to do with nature. I am a proud ER nurse who loves her job! My favorite things are chai tea lattes and Halloween Ever since I was little I remember having a strong bond with animals. I grew up with huskies and assisted with one of their births when I was 5! I enjoy furbaby-sitting and assisting animals with medical needs. Our goal is to have an animal sanctuary in the next 15 years to rescue all types of animals! We’ve always had a love for animals and dedicate our household to it. We cook plant-based and thrive on the challenge. I joined Paw Patrol of Dayton because they put all of their heart into their care. They aren’t just an organization, they are a tribe. They honor each other and love what they do. On top of that they are huge animal advocates and want to make a difference for the animals, not the money. I am thankful to be apart of their family

Thank you again, Autumn, for all you do to help our furry friends find new homes!
