Volunteer of the Month

March 2022 Volunteer of the Month - Kim

Please take a moment to read about, and express gratitude toward, our March volunteer of the month, Kim. She adopted a dog from us a few years ago and decided she wanted to get involved and give back, so she reached out and became a volunteer. We just LOVE when our adopters come back to join us!! Here is a bit about Kim, in her own words:

I volunteer with Paw Patrol of Dayton approving pet applications. I started volunteering with them since I had adopted a dog with them. When I decided to get another dog, I knew I was going to go through a rescue since I have another rescue dog. When looking at all the available dogs that are out there to be adopted it made me want to help with a rescue group.

I always been around dogs my whole life. Growing up, we had a dachshund named Cassidy. He was the only dog I remember us having. Once he was gone, we never had anymore. As I got older and on my own, I had 2 dogs which one of them came from a shelter. Currently I have my 2 rescue dogs (mixed chihuahuas) I absolutely love dogs and would have tons of them if I had the place for them.

I became interested in helping with a rescue because the love I have for animals. It made me aware that there are so many unwanted dogs out there. I wanted to help but didn't know where to start so I reached out to the rescue I got one of my dogs from. I eventually want to help foster dogs down the road. I feel rescues are in need of any kind of help you are willing to give.

Thank you so much, Kim, for all you do to help us process adoption applications and help animals in need find their forever homes!
