March 2026 Volunteer of the Month - Tonya
This month we want to say a huge kudos to Tonya, our March volunteer of the month. Tonya is not able to foster, but she goes above and beyond behind the scenes helping with fundraising and events. She
spends countless hours arranging things like bingo, auctions, and the Dayton Air Show fundraiser we participate in each year. Read a bit about Tonya and why she volunteers:
“I started with Paw Patrol Dayton intending to foster, thinking it was the only way I could contribute to
saving and caring for animals. I soon realized that with my lifestyle and frequent travel for work and
family, fostering wasn't a realistic option for me.
I discovered there are many ways to help rescue animals. I began volunteering at events to raise the
funds needed to support our fosters. Along the way, I found my niche with Paw Patrol Dayton through
fundraising, organizing, and supporting our events.
Over the years, I've been involved with the Weekly Auction, Garage Sale, Shoe Drive, the Dayton Air
Show, Quarter Auction, Bingo… Who knows what's next!
The Dayton Air Show is my favorite event because of the amazing volunteers who come together to
make it happen. The teamwork, the fun we share, and the common goal of helping animals make it
special. The best part is hearing the foster success stories and knowing that every hour of volunteering
and every dollar raised helps give animals in need a better life.
Outside of Paw Patrol, I keep busy with my kids, grandkids, my dog Cutter, traveling, and gardening.
You'll often find me watching the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and the Dayton Dragons, but
nothing compares to watching my kids and grandkids play! I'm also incredibly lucky to have the best
friends in the world. We always find fun things to do together, support each other, and many of them
even volunteer with me at Paw Patrol events. It means so much to share something I care about with
people who care just as much.”
We all just love Tonya and couldn't be prouder to call her one of our own. Tonya, thanks for all you do
and your efforts are helping save lives, even though it looks a little different than you originally thought it might!
