Volunteer of the Month

November 2021 Volunteer of the Month - Jessica

During this month of Thanksgiving, we would like to say a big thank you to one of our dedicated fosters, Jessica. She joined the Paw Patrol family when she adopted one of our babies, and later, decided to foster/volunteer with us…and we are SO happy she did! Here is some information about Jessica:

Growing up, I was in a military family. My father was in the Air Force, so we moved around quite a bit. We finally settled in Ohio. We didn't have animals growing up (other than the random goldfish), but after a particularly bad break-up in my mid 20s, I decided to get a dog. Not being a well-informed person at the time, I purchased my first dog - Brindle, a cairn terrier.

With the pandemic, it was just me and my super chill shih-tzu, Harley (adopted from Luv4K9s). Being at home so much, another dog felt like a necessity and a welcome distraction. Through Google, I found my pittie - Saffron, a Paw Patrol alum. Our chill, laid back little pack was complete! It was extremely lonely during the pandemic, and I contemplated getting a third dog, but was concerned about the financial burden, as both my dogs have ongoing medical issues. Having finished school (again) the year before, I had/have A LOT of time on my hands. Wanting to put it to good use (and not wanting to necessarily go back to school again), I decided I could probably foster and give lots of love to another dog. The foster parents I interacted with when adopting Saffron were so nice and knowledgeable, I figured Paw Patrol would be a great fit!!

Thank you again, Jessica, for all you do for these animals in need!
