August 2026 Volunteer of the Month - Kat

During the dog days of summer, we want to give gratitude for someone who spends her life helping dogs. Kat is such an amazing person and we are so glad she has joined our PPD family. She has jumped into helping us out in so many ways, but most notably by taking on the dogs that would not have a chance otherwise. She is truly a lifesaver! Read a bit about Kat in her own words:

“Hey! I’m Kat. I’m the owner of Dayton Dog Den & Spa. It is a training, daycare, boarding and grooming facility. In my spare time, I enjoy working closely with shelter, rescue and behavioral dogs to help set them up for success. I currently own four dogs all from various backgrounds and all have an eager love for training. About a year ago, a training client mentioned they adopted their dog from “Paw Patrol Dayton” and showed me their intake photo. I had recognized the dog from the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center. It was really cool to see a full circle moment unexpectedly of this pup being given an amazing home all thanks to Paw Patrol for pulling them from the shelter. I thought it was so cool the work they did with him. His transformation was remarkable. I followed them and saw an opportunity to get involved and I am so glad I did. I could not ask for a better place to volunteer with. It truly feels like a community, Paw Patrol shows up for so many, and I’ve made some great friends.”
