July 2026 Volunteer of the Month - Rita

Please join us in a giant round of applause for Rita, our July volunteer of the month. Rita has been a total powerhouse in helping us get some amazing fundraisers on our books and we are so grateful for her fresh, new ideas. Please read a bit about Rita and why she volunteers her time with Paw Patrol Dayton:

"Hi! I'm Rita, and I'm a teacher who loves helping animals whenever I can. I currently have two rescue dogs, Ziggy and Wilbur, and over the years I've been lucky enough to share my life with five dogs all from shelters and rescue organizations. They've given me a firsthand appreciation for the important role rescues like Paw Patrol play in giving dogs a second chance. I'd known about Paw Patrol for years, but I was inspired to get involved after Byndi, a dog who appeared to have been abandoned, was found in my neighborhood. I watched a volunteer trapper and one of Paw Patrol's fosters work together to get her to safety and seeing that compassion firsthand made me want to help however I could. Since then, I've watched Paw Patrol step up time and time again for animals in need. I'm happy I get to play even a small role in helping more dogs find the safe, loving homes they deserve."
